You many recall that when I arrived, I applied for, and Calvary received, a $1,500.00 Deaconness Health Grant. Beginning in September, Calvary will offer an opportunity for our members, and others in the community, to participate in Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a graceful form of exercise that has existed for 2000 years. Originally developed in China, Tai Chi is a self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Tai Chi involves a series of slow, graceful movements, which flow one into another. Some of the perks of Tai Chi are reduction of stress, increased flexibility, and improved balance. Anyone, regardless of age or physical ability can practice Tai Chi. Instructor, Patty Burkhalter, is available on Monday mornings from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Will be offering a Tai Chi Class on Mondays Starting January 11, 2010 - March 15, 2010 (10 week session) ...Cost for the ten week session will be $25.00, with the balance to be paid out of the health grant. Watch the bulletin for registration or call the church office at 314-429-7464 to sigh up.
